This is a gorgeous polished and oval shaped petrified wood candle holder. It holds a tea light sized candle and is earth tone colors, such as white, cream, grey, brown, and taupe.
How wood petrifies involves wood decaying in a hot silica rich environment. The wood will decompose and all of the molecules that make up the piece of wood gets replaced by silica. After this process is completed and finished the color of the wood then changes and the wood becomes very hard, harder than it was in the beginning.
